The Mojito originated in Cuba and is believed to have evolved from a 16th-century drink called El Draque, made with sugarcane spirit, lime, mint, and sugar. As rum production improved, white rum replaced the original spirit, creating the Mojito we know today. Its refreshing combination of rum, fresh mint, lime, sugar, and soda water made it a Cuban favourite before becoming one of the world's most popular classic cocktails.
